The Selden Gallery 208 East Main Street, Norfolk VA 23510 “lost”: Amy Repak May 28 – July 15, 2010 SELDEN GALLERY– Norfolk’s Bureau of Cultural Affairs presents, “lost”: Work by Amy Repak. There is an opening reception Friday evening May 28, 2010 from 5 PM – 7 PM. The exhibition runs from May 28 – July 15, 2010. Repak’s installation images thoughtfully perform as particles of reality held together with a thread of questions about loss. This exhibition explores different aspects of the separation of one individual from another by various means, such as death and dying or extreme memory deterioration. The work demonstrates how one attempts so desperately to collect and hold onto a memory, or how those individuals remembered hold onto us. Repak’s installation is an expression of ideas that are at once individual yet collective, local yet universal. The Selden Gallery is located on the second level of Selden Arcade’s Plume Street end and is managed by Norfolk Cultural Affairs. The gallery is open during Selden Arcade regular operating hours, Mon.-Sun., 8 AM-6 PM. For more information about Selden Arcade’s activities, events and exhibits, please contact 664-6880 or visit www.theSelden.com
